The best by far for really large panoramas is Autopano Giga. You need more than one software to stich everything. Just save as Photoshop large document format: psb. I needed a new version of the TIFF libraries, which I could do myself in linux, but in Mac I would say it might be just better to pay for the software that does the trick without the hassle. TIFF is not limited to 2GB - the implementation on your computer is. I use Hugin and have managed to stitch Gigapixel panoramas on a computer with half the RAM. On the other hand, I've already paid for a program that _should_ do the trick, so why should I spend plenty of money on an upgrade that _shouldn't_ be necessary in the first place?Ĭan't comment on Autopano. Not a bad price for an upgrade since the difference between the Giga and Pro licenses is exactly 100 €. For 100 € I could get the upgrade and get rid of them. ![]() Both, the Pro and the Giga were not built for Lion, but it's possible that Pro has more compatibility issues.Īnyway, all is well, except for the Autopano -watermarks. This leads me to the conclusion, that it wasn't an issue with HDD space or the amount of memory. It managed to render the panorama in one night (don't know how many hours it took)! So far, I haven't found any visible misalignments. I downloaded the Autopano Giga trial-version and imported the project from Autopano Pro. I have 2 drives on my machine and always put the temporary files on the second drive.Īloysious A Gruntpuddock edited this topic ages ago. The only other thing I can think of is that perhaps your hard drive does not have enough space for the temporary files. You might also have to increase the amount of memory and disk cache used by the program. I don't think 500 shots is excessive for Autopano Pro, especially with 8 Gb.Ĭan't comment on the Mac issue, you might get better answers here. I'm considering buying Photoshop CS5 soon, but does Photoshop still have some annoying 30000 px limit? What is the best file format for high-res panoramas? Jpeg only supports 63999 px in dimension and tiff's have a 2 GB limit (png seems to have the same limit). Has someone managed to render gigapixel panoramas with Autopano Pro? So is it up to the challenge or would I need to step up to Giga? Or perhaps 8 GB of mem just isn't quite enough. I've had problems before with the software crashing, but now I'm wondering it has got something to do with either Lion-compatibility (the 2.0.6-version is for Snow Leopard, as is the latest 2.5.2) or the need to step up to Autopano Giga. I've got some 500 jpegs and have run them through Kolor Autopano Pro, but am unable to render them with my Mac (27" iMac, i7 2.8 GHz, 8 GB, OS X Lion). ![]() Nikon D3 + AF-S Nikkor 70-200 mm f/2.8G VR 2 + Nikon TC-20E III Is there anyone who would like to help me render a panorama?
